A closer look at natural stone

Natural alabaster. Individual character.

Natural alabaster brings individual veining and subtle tonal variation to a design. Its appearance changes with the stone, its thickness and the light source.

  1. Natural variation

Veining and tone vary from piece to piece. Photographs illustrate the character of the material, not an exact pattern.

  2. Light through stone

Illumination reveals the stone’s translucent layers. The effect depends on the stone, its thickness and the light source used in the fixture.

A note on natural variation

If a particular stone pattern or tone matters, ask us about your chosen design before ordering.

Questions about alabaster

Will the veining match the photograph?

Natural alabaster varies in tone, veining and translucency. Your piece may differ from the material examples shown here. If you notice damage, chips or a functional issue, please contact our team.

Why does the stone look different when lit?

Illumination reveals more of the stone’s layers and veining. The light source, color temperature and stone thickness affect its appearance. Please refer to your selected product’s lighting specifications.

How should I care for alabaster?

Switch the fixture off and allow it to cool. Gently dust the stone with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid spray cleaners and harsh chemicals. Follow the care instructions supplied with your fixture.
